Category:Squib
From TypeCraft
In this category you find short pieces of writing relating to ongoing research in linguistics. Essential for a squib in the TCwiki is that whatever you write is backed-up by annotated language data found either in TypeCraft or in other databases which are accessible online. Of particular interest would be squibs that sketch typological generalisations, backed up by data that has been imported from the TC database into the Tcwiki.
Work in progress can be presented in TC squibs, as well as outlines of anomalous data. Squibs may be open-ended. They are meant to raise questions and to present research in progress.
A TC squib may also contain a theoretical argument, but again data back-up is expected.
